Terms of use

DevCircleUp is the community where developers ask, show their work, join events and rise together. These terms cover opening an account and posting on devcircleup.com.

Last updated: 24 October 2026

The account is yours

Signing in with Google, GitHub or LinkedIn opens an account. Your display name, username and profile are yours. You may not pretend to be someone else.

An individual account belongs to one person. A business account speaks for a company or a team: the business name and type (for example a software company) show on the profile. Whoever posts in the business’s name accepts that the post binds the business.

You keep the account safe. Actions from a device where you left the session open are yours.

What you post

You keep the rights to your posts, questions, polls, comments, projects, job listings and event registrations. You give DevCircleUp a worldwide, royalty-free licence to display that content in the community, order it in the feed and store a backup. Delete the post and the licence for it ends; it leaves the feed.

Published posts and public profiles can be seen by anyone who opens the site. Do not post what you need to keep private.

Do not present someone else’s code, design or writing as your own. A job listing has to be a real opening. Fake listings and misleading links are removed.

UP, levels and Alpha

UP is the community’s point for rising. It is not money, it cannot be transferred and it has no cash value. Level names, from Hello World to Legend, show where you stand on your profile.

The Alpha Member badge stays with the first one thousand members and is shown with a member number. It is not a job title and it is not an offer of employment.

Mentoring and events

Mentors are members of the community, not employees of DevCircleUp. Advice is their own experience. It is not a promise of a job, a salary or an outcome.

Registering for an event holds a place. A full event may stop taking new registrations. Online or in-person details live on the event page.

When an account crosses the line

Content that breaks the community guidelines can be hidden, a post can be removed and an account can be suspended. The decision looks at the report and at repeated behaviour.

While the product grows there can be downtime, lost data or a feature that closes. Phone verification is off for now; if it returns, we will say so. DevCircleUp is provided as it stands.

If these terms change

When the terms change, the date on this page changes. Using the site after that means you accept the new text. Close your account with “Close account” in profile settings. An admin account is closed by writing to us.
